ISWA is proud to have a chapter of the prestigious USA-based National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).
The NHS and NJHS (established in 1921 and 1929 respectively) recognise outstanding Secondary School students.
NHS is not just about academic recognition. Members must have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service.
At ISWA, NHS members need to acquire and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 85%, a B grade, or a score of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to meet scholarship requirements. All members of NHS must also continue to develop and strengthen their skills in the areas of Character, Leadership and Service.
To be actively and regularly involved in service to the community, ISWA members of NHS and NJHS are required to complete a minimum of 4 hours community service each month of the academic calendar. If a member wishes to participate in a service activity outside those organised by the group, prior approval must be received from the Academic Advisor.
