ISWA students who visited Cottesloe police officers were recently featured in a wonderful article, which can be read below.

Cottesloe police took time off from chasing baddies to visit Year 1 students at the International School of WA in City Beach on Wednesday. Year 1 teacher Angela Perry said that as part of the their course on “how we organise ourselves”, students learnt how responsible citizens helped build a strong community. “This visit helped the students understand the roles and responsibilities of our police,” Ms Perry said.

Year 1 teacher Megan Boyle said the visit enforced the school’s program, which encourages students to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective. Year 1 students were finding out that the principles they learnt at school applied in all jobs in order to help build a strong community. “The students enjoyed seeing the police van and listened to the siren as the van drove away," Ms Boyle said.
