ISWA NEWS: ISWA Move to Doubleview Approved
On Thursday 22 February 2018, I attended the JDAP meeting at the City of Stirling. It is with great pleasure that I announce that the application to approve the building of ISWA to Doubleview has been approved. It was a challenging morning at the tribunal but with a positive outcome. I would like to thank previous Chairs, Mr Roy Krzywosinski, Mr Michael Segura and our current Board Chair, Mr Lance Perry for their tremendous contributions. I would also like to thank the current and previous board members for their significant contribution and support. I must acknowledge the outstanding contribution from Mr Graham Nash (Savilles) and huge support from Mr John Fischer (DOE) and Mr David Muir (DOE), T and Z architects, all consultants and the Project Control Group. It was truly a team effort. The decision is perfectly timed re our strategic planing. The move is likely to take place by the end of 2019.
There will be a brand new state of the art, secondary school building and gymnasium and a refurbished and renovated primary school. The grounds will be green with nature playgrounds, plants, bushes and trees. The school will have a street presence with a new administration building and signage. The designs are stunning and modern Australian in style and very much about the natural environment and landscape.
We are very excited to move to our new home and be part of the local community. Community is very important to ISWA as community is part of our ethos, philosophy and approach to education.
We will be displaying the new plans in our reception area for viewing by our students, staff, parents and visitors to our school.
At our recent Open Day we had parents from Doubleview PS who were keen to enrol at ISWA and are excited about our relocation to Doubleview. There are many Doubleview and local residents who are looking forward to having the choice of where to send their children to school.
If you have any queries regarding our relocation please contact my PA at firstname.lastname@example.org
Yours in community
