June 2018

It is with much excitement that we introduce the inaugural ISWA Student and Teacher Exchange Programme to Shenzhen, China in the last week of this academic year. This unique travel experience is open to ISWA students in years 8, 9 and10.
This trip is a remarkable opportunity for our students and teachers to gain an insight into school, education, culture and life in China. It also provides the framework for connectedness and networking. The programme is a great cultural fit for ISWA as an international school that promotes international mindedness and global citizenship.
The Trip Co-ordinator will be Mr Craig Skinner, Head of Secondary. Students will be interviewed and selected based on their suitability for such a programme. They will be ambassadors for our school. Teachers will accompany students.
The students will be billeted to Chinese school families with the expectation that this will be reciprocated when the students visit ISWA.
We are seeking expressions of interest from students and parents.

About the School

Principal Maria Coate and Ian Short, Business Manager, visited Second Foreign Languages School of Nanshan in Shenzhen, China at the end of last term. It is a Year 1-9 Government school, located in the CBD with a very high standard of education and academic results and achievement. We were very impressed with the standard of education and facilities and the open-mindedness and hospitality of the staff and our hosts. The majority of students spoke a good level of English.
