Our parents choose ISWA because…

A boutique school means a personalised learning experience.

As a boutique school, our students have the unique benefit of having additional attention from our outstanding teaching staff. Our teachers know every single one of our students. They devise teaching and learning methods that best suit the students and their learning style – this is true personalised learning.

Our curriculum is the ideal preparation for life beyond the school gates.

Our curriculum is based on the world-class International Baccalaureate program, an internationally admired educational approach that is unique because of its academic and personal rigour. It is designed to nurture inquiry, develop life-long learning skills, and sets our graduates up with the best grounding to continue their studies anywhere in the world – whether that be locally, on the east coast of Australia or at leading Universities around the globe.

We are egalitarian and non-denominational.

Communities have people from many faiths, and none. ISWA celebrates all these choices in its co-educational, egalitarian and non-denominational environment.

Co-education prepares our students for the real world.

The outside world is not separated by gender, and neither is our school. Academically, co-education improves the ways students think, learn and collaborate. Socially, it enables students to mix confidently with the other gender and break down stereotypes. We believe that children (not genders) have different learning styles and aim to improve learning outcomes through quality teaching and positive interactions between teachers and students.

Local and global students unite to offer everyone a unique perspective.

With over 40 nationalities of students enrolled at ISWA, the school offers a true cross-section of international and local students. The vastly different experiences and backgrounds of students and staff enhances and expands classroom discussion, benefiting students significantly. When our students leave school, they will be living in a globalized world and collaborating with people from all sorts of backgrounds. Our environment well and truly prepares them for that.

Our school community has a unique sense of belonging.

Our school community plays a particularly important role in the lives of students and their families. ISWA’s inclusive, welcoming school community and active Parent Association ensure newcomers are welcomed and settle quickly and happily into their new Perth lifestyle. And local students, who did not fit into the mainstream or elite Perth school structure find their place here at ISWA, often for the first time ever in a school environment, they find that they belong.

We believe our environment is the ultimate “preparation for life” – and so do our parents…

“…it is a boutique school that provides personalised education of high academic standard in an open-minded and inclusive environment…”
