The Global Achiever Scholarship offers applicants the unique opportunity to complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, which prepares students not only academically but also socially and culturally for a globalised and interconnected world. The emphasis on holistic development, concept-based inquiry and global awareness positions IB graduates as well-rounded, adaptable and socially conscious individuals.

The Global Achiever Scholarship at ISWA is a merit-based award designed to recognise and support outstanding students who exhibit academic prowess, collaborative skills, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. By offering the Global Achiever Scholarship, ISWA aims to empower exceptional students to become future leaders, change-makers, and ambassadors for positive global change.

The Global Achiever Scholarship is open to well-rounded individuals entering Year 7 to 11 in July 2027, who are not already enrolled at ISWA, and current ISWA students who will enter year 7 in July 2027 or 2028. (The scholarship will commence when the student begins year 7).

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate:

Academic Excellence: A strong academic record, consistently displaying exceptional performance and a genuine passion for learning.

Collaborative Skills: A proven ability to take initiative, uplift others, demonstrate teamwork skills, and contribute positively to school and community activities.

Global Citizenship: A commitment to embracing diversity, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and actively engaging in activities that promote global awareness.

Extracurricular Involvement: Active participation in a variety of extracurricular activities, such as sports, arts, community service, or other pursuits, showcasing a well-rounded and versatile skill set.

Applicants for the Global Achiever Scholarship must submit an Application Form and a comprehensive application portfolio, including:

Academic Transcripts: A detailed record of academic achievements, including report cards (past two years), recent standardised test scores (such as NAPLAN or MAP), and any other relevant academic accomplishments.

Letter of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation from teachers, mentors or community members who can attest to the applicant’s academic abilities, collaborative skills and character.

A Portfolio: This should demonstrate how the applicant meets the eligibility criteria

  • A thoughtful essay (300-500 words) outlining why the applicant wishes to attend ISWA, outlining their goals and how they meet the Eligibility Criteria
  • Documentation showcasing the applicant’s involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, and any notable achievements or projects. This can include links to videos of performances, presentations, talks etc.

Any Diagnostic/specialist or extension information must be submitted if applicable, as well as Custody or other relevant family documentation as applicable.

A dedicated scholarship committee will carefully review each application. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an aptitude test, interview and to participate in team activities to further assess their qualifications, aspirations, and suitability for the Global Achiever Scholarship.

Applications must be submitted by September 7, 2026.

The Scholarship provides a reduction of 15-50% of the School tuition fee as determined by the Principal after consideration of the family’s ability to contribute to the cost of tuition. The Scholarship will continue until the student graduates from ISWA, subject to periodic review and provided satisfactory progress is made.

Parents and guardians will be asked to submit a substantial statement of assets and liabilities, and provide copies of Taxation Assessments, and/or Trust Returns, and Centrelink or other assessments for the past two years (if applicable).

  1. To be eligible for a scholarship, candidates must have Australian Citizenship or be a Permanent Resident in Australia.
  2. Students awarded scholarships are required to maintain a high academic standard, demonstrate the attributes of the IB Learner Profile and contribute fully to the life of the School. The School reserves the right to review a students performance at any time and withdraw the scholarship offered in circumstances where the terms of the scholarship have not been met.
  3. Scholarships are granted with the expectation that a student will complete Year 12 at ISWA. If this does not occur the School is entitled to request that all or part of the value of the scholarship fees are payable to the School 4. The number and value assigned to each scholarship awarded in a given year may vary at the discretion of the Principal and the Board of Trustees.
  4. A scholarship offer does not cover other costs such as uniforms, fee-attracting trips and activities and ad hoc expenses – these costs are the responsibility of the family.
  5. Scholarships should be taken up as awarded, and begun in July, the beginning of the ISWA school year. A different start date or deferment will be granted in exceptional circumstances only.
  6. All decisions will be at the discretion of the Principal. Offers will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  7. These Scholarship Terms and Conditions form part of the contract between the School and parents or guardians who sign the Acceptance of Enrolment Agreement at the School.
