Fine and Performing Arts
Our commitment to the Arts begins in Kindergarten, shaping learners who think creatively and engage deeply with real-world challenges.
At ISWA, the Arts provide a continuous pathway for expression, growth and meaningful connections to the world and to each other.
The Visual and Performing Arts are at the heart of a holistic education that nurtures creativity, collaboration and critical thinking. Through Theatre, Music, and Visual Arts, students learn to express ideas, whether they are personal reflections or powerful social and political commentary.
All students from Kindergarten through to Year 10 take part in Music, Visual and Performing Arts classes. Our Year 11s and 12s have the option of studying Theatre or Visual Art as part of their International Baccalaureate Diploma.
The Arts invite learners to explore diverse perspectives, solve complex problems and communicate meaningfully. In an era where innovation and empathy are essential, our Arts programmes empower students to engage with global issues, challenge assumptions and articulate their voices with confidence. These experiences not only enrich personal growth but also strengthen learning across disciplines. By embracing the Arts, we prepare students to become adaptable, thoughtful leaders who understand that creativity is not a luxury but necessary for shaping a better world.
Music
Ensembles at the International School of WA include an upper secondary and lower secondary band, as well as a Primary Choir and Secondary Choir.
The school year holds many performance opportunities, both internally to showcase their talents to peers and externally for parents to see.
Some annual highlights include the “Starlight Festival” in which Primary classes and extracurricular ensembles take the stage to spread the joy of the holiday season, and the “ISWA-Palooza” festival, where Secondary students take the stage at the Rosemount Hotel, giving our next generation of Rockstars experience in performing in real live music venue!
