The ISWA Difference

ISWA offers a world-class, co-educational, non-denominational education for students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

We empower students to become global citizens: curious, confident, and capable of making a meaningful impact. At ISWA, concept-based inquiry is at the heart of our curriculum, and every student is empowered to take ownership of their learning, act with integrity and compassion, and grow into principled, reflective individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to a global society

Local and Global

With over 60 nationalities represented, ISWA is a vibrant and inclusive community of local and international families. Our students explore global, national and local issues in the classroom, developing international-mindedness, strong values, and a sense of responsibility to contribute positively to the world around them.

Belonging Starts Here

Whether you’re from around the corner or across the globe, ISWA is a place where everyone feels welcome. Our appreciation of diversity and our culture of warmth, inclusivity, and respect ensures that every student and family finds their place and feels at home.

Diversity in Learning

ISWA is proudly non-denominational and co-educational. We celebrate diverse perspectives and encourage students to understand that others, with their differences, can also be right. This philosophy fosters open-mindedness, collaboration, and respectful dialogue: key traits of internationally-minded individuals.

Personalised, Inquiry-Based Education

We are an inclusive international school that encourages students to explore and have the freedom to be. With an average of two classes per year group, our students receive equal access, meaningful feedback and swift intervention. The nature of inquiry-based learning empowers ISWA students with the confidence to ask questions and have voice in their learning. Our motivated team provide differentiated and flexible learning experiences and assessments in response to student needs.

Preparing Students for Life Beyond School

At ISWA, education goes beyond academic achievement: it’s about preparing students to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Through the Western Australian curriculum and the globally respected International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme, students develop the skills, mindset and values needed for life beyond school.

Our approach nurtures:

  • Future-ready skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, digital literacy, and adaptability.
  • Student agency, encouraging learners to take initiative, reflect on their growth, and make informed choices.
  • Design thinking, creativity and innovation through interdisciplinary projects and real-world problem solving.
  • Global citizenship, with a strong emphasis on intercultural understanding, advocacy and sustainability.
  • Wellbeing and resilience, supported by our Visible Wellbeing program, caring community and a holistic approach to personal growth.

ISWA offers multiple pathways to university.

Pathways to University

ISWA offers multiple pathways to university, designed to meet the needs of a diverse and globally mobile student body. The majority of our students in Years 11 and 12 choose the academically rigorous International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), a globally recognised qualification respected by leading universities in Australia and around the world.

In addition, ISWA is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a U.S-based accrediting body. This means that students who meet ISWA’s graduation requirements are eligible to receive the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma, opening doors to universities across North America and beyond.

Whether pursuing the IB DP or the U.S. diploma pathway, ISWA students benefit from:

Global Recognition

Global recognition and flexibility in university applications.

Personalised Academic

Personalised academic guidance to support each student’s goals and aspirations.

Academic Excellence

ISWA consistently ranks among the top schools in Perth and Australia in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). Our students outperform state & national averages: an achievement made even more remarkable given that many of our students speak English as an additional language.

The IB Programme provides an ideal environment for gifted and talented learners to flourish. Our graduates regularly achieve their top choice of universities and colleges around the world.
