Action, Service & Engagement

At ISWA, action is a mindset. Our students graduate as compassionate, engaged citizens ready to contribute to a better world.

Action, Service and Engagement

Primary Years Programme (PYP): Action Starts Here

In the PYP, action is an integral part of learning. Our youngest learners are encouraged to apply their knowledge and skills to make a positive impact, whether through classroom or school initiatives, environmental projects or community service. These experiences, largely initiated through student voice, nurture responsibility, creativity and a sense of agency from an early age.

Middle Years Programme: Community Engagement

In Years 7-10, students deepen their understanding of their place in the world through Community Engagement. They collaborate respectfully with local and global communities, responding to real challenges with principled action. Action emerges as part of classes, and also each homeroom leads a Community Engagement Project, identifying a need and working together to create meaningful improvement. Through inquiry, reflection and service, students develop the IB Learner Profile attributes that prepare them for success at and beyond school.

Diploma Programme: Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

CAS is the heart of the IB Diploma Programme, ensuring students live balanced, purposeful lives. Over 18 months, learners design experiences that challenge them to grow in three areas:

  • Creativity: Express ideas through art, performance or innovation.
  • Activity: Commit to physical well-being through sport or outdoor pursuits.
  • Service: Make a difference in the community through volunteer work and social initiatives.
